At 5pm EST. Saturday National Weather Service has predicted hurricane Emily to be near North Latitude 16.8 and West Longitude 78.8 located 130 miles South - Southwest of Montigo Bay Jamiaca.and 235 miles of Grand Cayman Islands. Emily is moving North - North East. This Hurricane is predicted to move in this direction for the next 24 hours. This should bring Emily closer to the Southwestern part of Jamaica and near the Cayman Islands later tonight. Emily is Moving West - Northwest at 18 Mph with now wind gusts sustained at 155 mph.

Hurricane force winds can be felt from the center to 60 miles outward and Tropical force winds extend 150 miles outward from center.

In Jamaica Areas affected can see hurricane force winds as rain bands come across the island. Dangerous battering waves associated with the storm will be seen in southern part of Jamaica and the Cayman Islands. Rain fall accumulation with Emily can be 5 - 8 inches over Jamaica and up to 15 inches over the mountains. The Cayman Islands can see 5 to 8 inches of rain also. Cuba is expected to see 1- 3 inches of rain in the Southeastern part of the island. Rains may fall into the Yucatan peninsula by Sunday with rain amounts form 4 to 8 inches of rain. Flash Floods are possible so everyone in the storms paths should be on the alert.

The Mexican Government has issued a Hurricane watch westward along the coast of the Yucatan peninsula to Progresso. Also included in this watch is the eastern and northern coast of the Yucatan peninsula including from Chetumal, Consumel and the Islas Mujeres
